WOW-Day
On 27 September 2012 we are joining forces all around the world. With your ideas and activities such as crafts and sales campaigns, sponsored runs or jobs in companies, we will raise money to support Waldorf- and social initiatives around the globe. – Join us and together we can ensure better life perspectives for many disadvantaged children!
Never before have so many Waldorf schools from so many countries participated on WOW-Day as last year. In 2011, students from nearly 230 Waldorf schools in 25 countries collected more than 300,000 € with extraordinary dedication and a lot of enthusiasm. Their contribution is helping to support disadvantaged children in more than 50 organisations in more than 20 countries. Overall, students have collected about two million Euros on the various WOW-Day’s so far. This allows children living in difficult circumstances to benefit from access to independent education. You can help schools, kindergartens and remedial education organisations receive vital support for their social projects. As a result, children in Kenya can attend school, in Brazil education can show the alternatives to a criminal life in the favelas and people with disabilities in Georgia can live a dignified life.

On the one hand WOW-Day is a global campaign, which supports children in need. On the other hand it brings the world into the classroom. Applications are open to all students in grades 1 to 13. Has your school joined yet?
Under www.freunde-waldorf.de you can find everything you need as a download: a lot of ideas for im- plementing WOW-Day, information about the projects that you can support, photos and press material for local newspapers, legal information for the school, sample employment contracts for companies, etc.
Applications are open to all students in grades 1 to 13. For registration it is sufficient if the contact person at your school sends us an email to berlin@freunde-waldorf.de. The money that you collect from your activities will be transferred to the Friends of Waldorf Education and we will forward the donations at 100 percent to the projects in need of help.
